I'm assuming Zig will be one of the first off the wage bill?

Back to Spain for the same price we paid for him? That wouldn't be a disaster.

If only he'd been fit. :crying:

Unless he is willing to take a 50% pay cut he is on his way.

Yes he'll be off. If his salary is what people say it is.

I for one won't miss him. He's hardly the looks of a footballer which is why McLeish bought him - the long diagonals to the tall player. Sorry, but that's not my type of football.

I want him to stay, but he'll more than likely go. :(

it's a great shame- I was looking forward to seeing him in the Watford match against Martin Taylor (if only to see who was the slower)

I'd want to keep him. He will be a major asset next season. Personally, I would sell Johnson (suspect he will agitate to go anyway) and maybe Foster and try to hang on to Zigic and Dann. These 4 are the big value players (plus Gardner I guess) and we will probably have to sell at least 2 of them to fund rebuilding?

Yes you can. There was a tiny period in McLeish's tenure when we played football I liked and started to change my views about McLeish...however it didn't last for lomg.

It was 12 or so games when Benitez had an extended run. Strange that, the football was good and we went unbeaten. Sadly it was too much skill, positivity and forward-play for McLeish.........he won't change you know.

It's funny how the pro-McLeishers are anti-football. They hate Benitez but they love Zigic.

He's under contract, so that's a start. The board would need to consider whether or not his wages would be a sufficient price to pay for his contribution to the promotion effort. He'd be an almighty handful at Championship level, that's for sure.

Not so in my case. I even had the Chucho t-shirt.

I think all the players should take a pay cut!!!! they are the ones who put us where we are now,,, and has a incentive if they do get us back at the first attempt them pay them a very handsome bonus!!

I have to agree, but Zigic was on his way to becoming a real legend here w/ the goals against Villa and Arsenal (not to mention the winner @ Wet Spam). He'd progressed leaps and bounds since his early cameos as Bambi. A fit Zig probably would have seen us stay up.

I think we all loved Benitez - easy on the eye and fun to watch - but lets put him into context - Cameron Jerome has this season scored triple the amount of PL goals that Benitez did - that's how prolific a scorer he was. :LMAO:
And Zigic was our top scoring striker this season - a player who is wanted in the PL and La Liga and we should get a good price for him too.

A few good goals but he did not bring much to the side to be honest, expect 2 million tops for a 31 year old this summer.

He brought an aerial threat that Arsenal amongst others struggled to cope with - in the Cup and the PL. Much more to come from him and I hope he stays in the PL.

Bambi on ice as they say. And a very expensive Bambi at that if reports about his wages are true.

Would have kept us up I think but next to useless in the CC, he struggled with the Prem CB's so a few cloggers in the CC would have him injured all season and going missing . SELL SELL SELL

If we only get offers that mean we loose several million on him I would swallow the wages and keep him. If we can get £4-5m i would sell
